MyChurchConnect is a church community and management app. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in three main ways: information you provide, account/technical identifiers, and usage/diagnostics.
- Profile details you choose to enter (e.g., name, email, phone number, address, date of birth, gender, marital status, emergency contact details).
- Ministry participation data (e.g., the ministries you join, join requests, roles, and related activity).
- Authentication data (e.g., user ID, sign-in status) handled via Firebase Authentication.
- Device & app data (e.g., device identifiers, push notification token, basic usage events, crash logs).
- Payment/donation data when you give via Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe processes payments securely.
3. How we use your information
- Provide app functionality (accounts, profiles, ministries, events, announcements).
- Send essential notifications (e.g., join request updates, announcements) if you enable notifications.
- Process donations and provide confirmations/records.
- Maintain safety, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems.
- Improve performance and user experience.
4. Sharing & third parties
We share data only as needed to run the app, including:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Messaging, and diagnostics).
- Stripe for secure payment processing (donations/giving).
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Storage & security
We store app data using Firebase services. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to reduce risk.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can request deletion of your account by emailing us.
7. Your rights
If you are in the UK/EEA, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
8. Children
The app is not intended for children under 13 without parental supervision. If you believe a child has provided personal data without consent, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
